Thank you-FMP.ie! The prison registers are liberally spinkled with my ancestors-which has been fantastic for confirming addresses in the absence of the 19th C census, and especially providing physical descriptions. Non family historians find it odd that I am thrilled wih my 'dodgy' discoveries! Having said that, most of mine were put inside for really minor offences-the authorities seemed to arrest people at the drop of a hat.

Thanks Simon - We love the prison registers here at the findmypast towers. Was there any interesting finds from them?

Hi Guys,

Is there any plans to have the databases searchable by place (town or townland) also?

Thanks.
